Samsung will launch the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 Galaxy A-series smartphones in India on March 11. The smartphone duo will be a follow-up to the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 from last year and has been leaked “extensively”, even by Samsung itself.

The upcoming Galaxy A-series phones will “democratise” more high-end innovations including “flagship features, premium design and powerful processors”, Samsung said in a press release sent to media today.

Some of those flagship features include an “IP67 rating for spill resistance” and “stronger Gorilla Glass [protection] compared to last year’s Gorilla Glass 5.” The phones are also billed to come with “advanced camera for nightography.” Usually, these phones tend to follow a design scheme on similar lines as the latest Galaxy S-series models, but leaks suggest, while the blueprint could be same, Samsung may opt for certain tweaks such as putting the side buttons on a raised pedestal.

The Galaxy A54 and A34 brought a dash of colour and something similar will be expected from their successors. Leaked renders doing the rounds suggest a new yellow colour could be in the offing.

As for choice of chip, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 will reportedly come powered by Exynos 1480 and Exynos 1380 processor, respectively. Samsung has confirmed that both phones will be eligible for four major OS and up to five years of security updates, so 7-year-support remains exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series at the time of writing. Both phones are rumoured to come with more or less the same camera hardware as the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34. Watch this space for more updates.
