Poco launched the Poco M6 Pro 5G with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage in India today. The Xiaomi spin-off said the new variant comes in response to the demand for enhanced performance. The 8GB/256GB variant joins the existing 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configurations.
The Poco M6 Pro was launched in India in August and was touted as the country’s most affordable smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip (narrowly beating sister brand Redmi’s 12 5G in the race). Poco in fact calls it a “5G disruptor” after the phone got sold out not once but thrice, shortly after its initial launch.

After today’s announcement, the Poco M6 Pro now comes in a choice of 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB for Rs 10,999, Rs 12,999, and Rs 14,999, respectively. The phone is sold exclusively via Flipkart.
The newly launched 8GB/256GB Poco M6 Pro will go on sale from November 29, 2023. HDFC and ICICI Bank credit card transactions will be eligible for Rs 2,000 discount on buying the Poco M6 Pro, Poco says.
Poco M6 Pro 5G full specs, top features
The Poco M6 Pro has a 6.79-inch LCD display with a 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it has the 4-nanometre Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 from Qualcomm paired with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 software based on Android 13. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W USB Type-C charging. For photography, it has a 50-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel camera for portraits in addition to an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies on the front.
A big draw, in addition to the underlying chip, is the glass back design which has disappeared from smartphones in this price range off late. You can get the Poco M6 Pro in black and green. Rounding off the package are IP53 splash resistance, IR blaster, and side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics.
