Oppo is set to launch its A83 smartphone on Saturday, January 20 in India. The company has posted multiple teasers on Twitter confirming the launch of Oppo A83. The smartphone was launched in China in December last year at a price of 1,399 yuan, which roughly translates to the Indian currency equivalent of Rs. 14,000. The Oppo A83 comes with AI-powered selfie beautification, face-unlock features and an 18:9 display as its biggest highlights.
The Oppo A83 was launched initially in China in December last year in Black and Champagne colour variants. The price of the smartphone was set at 1,399 yuan in China. The Oppo A83 India price can be expected to be around the Chinese price. According to the teasers posted by the Twitter account of Oppo Mobile India, the Oppo A83 will be available from January 20, which means that the smartphone will go on sale on the day of its launch. “Prepare to be stunned by the all new #OPPOA83. Oppo A83 Specifications
The Oppo A83 is a dual SIM smartphone that runs Android 7.1 with Color OS 3.2 skin on the top. The smartphone is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It houses a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD 18:9 display.
As for the cameras, the Oppo A83 has a 13-megapixel rear camera supported by an LED flash module. On the front, the smartphone carries an 8-megapixel camera with AI Beauty feature to improve the selfies. The smartphone comes with face unlock feature that Oppo claims can unlock the device within 0.18 seconds. The Oppo A83 has the standard set of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, OTG, and 4G VoLTE among others. The smartphone packs a 3180mAh battery under the hood.
