OpenAI is actively considering the establishment of data centre infrastructure in India as the artificial intelligence (AI) giant deepens its commitment to its second-largest and fastest-growing consumer market, according to Srinivas Narayan, CTO of B2B Applications at OpenAI.

“Infrastructure build-out is a very big thing for us. We are absolutely excited about partnering with players in India to create infrastructure within the country both for the local usage and also for hosting applications here that can be used worldwide,” Narayan said in an interaction with media on the sidelines of ‘OpenAI DevDay [Exchange]’. However, he declined to provide specific timelines or progress made on the plans so far.
