Time to scratch your brain because the new puzzles have dropped from NYT Connections. The New York Times has captivated puzzle lovers once again with its hit word game, NYT Connections. The daily word challenge, which tests players’ ability to group related words, is enjoying a massive fan following, rivalling the success of other popular world games such as Wordle. However, unlike traditional crossword puzzles, Connections requires lateral thinking and the ability to discern hidden relationships between words.
What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is a word-related game available on The New York Times’ website and mobile app. Each puzzle includes a 4×4 grid of 16 words. The players have to find four groups of words that share a common connection. These connections can be based on themes such as synonyms, cultural references, or even grammar.
How to play NYT Connections?
Players have four chances to correctly segment the words. Each incorrect guess reduces the number of available attempts. The game colour codes the difficulty of each connection by colour: yellow (easiest), green (moderate), blue (challenging), and purple (most difficult).
— Analyse the words – Look at all 16 words and try spotting obvious links. Some groups, such as colours (red, blue, green, yellow) or famous actors, may stand out immediately.
— Look for synonyms and categories – Words with similar meanings or belonging to the same category may be grouped together.
— Check for tricky wordplay – Some words might have multiple meanings or be part of phrases. For example, “bark” could refer to the dog’s bark or a tree bark.
— Test your guesses wisely – Since you only have four chances, be fully sure before making the guesses. If unsure, you will reduce your remaining chances.
— Use the Undo feature – If a group is incorrect, rethink your choices rather than making random guesses.
Where to play NYT ‘Connections’
