Nothing has officially announced the rollout of its highly anticipated Nothing OS 3.0 (NOS 3.0), powered by Android 15, bringing a suite of new features and improvements. The NOS 3.0 introduces several new features that enhance usability and offer a more personalised experience. One of the standout features is the new native gallery app, which comes with advanced tools like improved search functions, filters, markup, and suggestions. This app is designed to make photo organisation and editing easier than ever before.
Another major update is the enhanced lock screen, which now supports “Shared Widgets.” These widgets allow users to stay connected with friends and family by sharing personalised widgets directly on the lock screen. The update also includes a new Countdown Widget, designed to help users stay on top of important events and deadlines, boosting productivity.
The AI-powered Smart Drawer is another key feature in NOS 3.0. This smart tool automatically categorises apps into folders, making app organization more efficient and user-friendly. Apart from the primary features, Nothing OS 3.0 introduces several performance improvements and tweaks. These include faster and more intuitive access to essential functions, enhanced pop-up view for better multitasking with an improved pop-up window experience. The visual and performance enhancements include optimisations for smoother animations and system performance. The update also brings updated typography which brings a more modern and readable font system across the interface.
The rollout of Nothing OS 3.0 is underway for Phone (2) and Phone (2a), with updates staggered throughout the end of 2024. Users of Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone 1 can expect the update to arrive at the beginning of 2025.
