Microsoft’ virtual assistant software Cortana can remind you of the promises you made in the past and all you can do is, either keep them or feel guilty about it. The fancy personal assistant by Microsoft, called Cortana actually uses machine learning to make you remember things and you don’t even have to ask for it. The new feature in Cortana is amazing and can recognise a promise if you had made one in your emails, where she automatically creates a reminder of. If the email text has a deadline, Cortana will remind you before it crosses. There is no need to activate any special setting to use the feature, all you should do is give communications consent to Cortana. From then on, just keep sending messages and make promises, while Cortana does the rest.
But, there is a catch. This new feature is only available for Windows 10 operating system users. Android and iOS users will reportedly be getting this new feature soon. The other issue is, currently, Cortana can only understand the emails sent using Outlook.com or a work/school Office 365 account. According to reports, the feature will be available to other email services too, soon. This feature, Microsoft had been testing among Windows Insider participants, initially but now it is available to all.

In the new update, Cortana will remind you of your promises. For example, if your report deadline is by the end of the week, then Cortana will offer to create a reminder to make sure you get it done by then.
