Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to develop at an impressive pace, venturing into areas once thought to be solely human domains. Following breakthroughs in fields like medicine and business, AI has now set its sights on the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination, known for its immense difficulty.
An AI application called PadhAI has grabbed headlines for its performance in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024. Developed by a team of IITians, PadhAI reportedly tackled the entire exam paper within just seven minutes and achieved a high score, exceeding the qualifying mark by a significant margin.
According to reports, PadhAI secured a score of over 170 marks out of a possible 200. This score would likely place the AI application among the top 10 scorers nationally, potentially even securing the rank 1 position. This score is also highest than any humans or AI models has ever scored.
“This is the highest score achieved in the last 10 years of UPSC exams. We believe that while our event is first of its kind, in a few years, such events will become commonplace as several educational institutions race to solve papers quickly and precisely with AIs,” PadhAI’s CEO Karttikeya Mangalam said.
