The new iPhone Air is a remarkable gadget to adore, but its smaller capacity battery may deter many from choosing it over the iPhone 17 Pro. The same goes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, which also suffers from a less-than-ideal battery capacity. Although power banks are an obvious solution to the problem at hand, the bulkiness of these portable power tanks may raise more questions. This is where Stuffcool jumps in with its Nemo powerbank – a compact pocket-friendly accessory with all the bells and whistles.
On paper, the Stuffcool Nemo 10000mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank promises to deliver a powerful yet ultra-portable charging solution for these unique smartphones. But should you buy it for Rs 2,499? Since I have been daily-ing the iPhone Air lately, I got a good chance to review the Nemo thoroughly and came out impressed.
How portable is the Stuffcool Nemo?
More than the marketing materials suggest! The Nemo is a candy-bar-sized powerbank that weighs just 205 grams. Even though the weight is concentrated in a smaller mass, the Nemo easily slips into pockets and small handbags, without letting gravity cause any concern. Get this – the wireless charging coil is wider than the powerbank!
The magnetic attachment is strong and secure, providing a satisfying snap onto the back of any MagSafe-compatible iPhone and the new Pixel 10. This magnetic grip is solid enough that you can confidently use your phone while it charges wirelessly, without fear of it detaching. Note that the magnetic grip gets weaker on cases.
The integrated, retractable Type-C cable is another brilliant addition, eliminating the need to carry an extra cable for wired charging. For a powerbank that’s this compact, these additions make it a great choice.
The only gripe with the Stuffcool Nemo is the scratch and scuff-magnet plastic body. The plastic shell easily scratches and catches marks, thus making it age faster visually.
Charging performance
Despite its compact size, the Nemo doesn’t skimp on power. The 10,000mAh capacity is more than enough to fully charge most iPhones twice via a wired connection or provide at least one full wireless charge. It supports 15W MagSafe-compatible wireless charging, which is a fast and efficient way to top up your compatible iPhone without any wires. For example, a completely depleted iPhone Air was able to charge up its battery thrice via the wireless charging method. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could manage two full charges via wireless charging. A regular iPhone 15 Plus also managed two full charges wirelessly.
For devices requiring a wired connection, the built-in 20W Type-C cable provides fast charging for modern Android phones like Samsung and Google Pixel 10 devices. A bonus 22.5W USB-A port is also included, catering to a wide range of devices from various manufacturers. Note that you will need a separate USB-A cable to utilise this perk.
The combination of magnetic wireless charging, a built-in Type-C cable, and a universal USB-A port makes the Nemo a versatile all-in-one charging solution. Ever since we got the Nemo on test, it has totally replaced my universal phone charger. A small but useful digital display on the front provides a clear, at-a-glance indication of the remaining battery percentage.
Thanks to the dedicated USB-C port, you can use a regular 20W Apple charger to fill up the battery when the tanks deplete. Since it is a large battery, it is best to leave it on overnight charging and unplug in the morning.
Verdict
For a powerbank that costs Rs 2,499, the Stuffcool Nemo is worth having in your pocket if you exhaust your phone’s battery faster than your stamina. Its compact size, combined with a robust magnetic grip and a variety of charging options, makes it an excellent travel companion and an everyday essential.
