As Apple launched the much awaited iPhone 16 series in India, users went gaga over the models. This year in Apple’s much awaited ‘Its Glowtime’ event, the company has smartly played around the prices. iPhone’s have always been known as ‘high cost’ models, since its birth. But this year the launch prices came much less in comparison to the early model launches.
Apple announced that the 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,900 which is around Rs 15,000 less than the iPhone Pro that was priced at Rs 1,34,4900 during its launch. However, the price was changed to Rs 1,29,800 just after India moved to lower import duty on smartphones. In spite of this revised price, the cost for 16 Pro remains about Rs 10,000 less.

In India the iPhone 16 starts at Rs 79,900 and the iPhone 16 Plus starts at Rs 89,900. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,44,900 and the iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,900.

Based on the comparison it can be seen that Apple has a soft corner for India. While the prices are quite low here, other countries still see high cost structures. For the past few years India has seen a rise in iPhone buyers,mostly driven by Apple’s innovative and creative marketing strategy. Apple has been showcasing a lot of creativity in its ads and even for that matter its annual events. The company also mentioned that by 2025, it aims to move 25 percent of its manufacturing to India.
