Hear out all the music lovers and social media enthusiasts, Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows users to add music directly to their profiles, echoing the nostalgic Myspace days.

“We’re excited to announce that you can now add a song to your profile, giving you more ways to express yourself through music on Instagram! Swipe through to learn more,” company said in a blog post.

To add music to your Instagram profile, open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Go to your profile by tapping the icon in the bottom right corner. Tap “Edit Profile.” Look for the new “Music” section and select the “+” icon. Choose your desired song from the available options, similar to adding music to your Instagram Stories. Pick the specific segment of the song you want to feature and tap “Done.”

Once you’ve completed these steps, the music will be visible on your profile. Visitors can click on the music icon to listen to the 30-second clip you’ve chosen. This feature not only enhances your profile’s personality but also provides a snapshot of your musical tastes.

Instagram recently also introduced another significant update allowing users to include up to 20 photos and videos in a single grid post, doubling the previous limit of 10. This new feature builds on the 2017 introduction of carousel posts, which allowed users to swipe through up to 10 photos or videos in one post. The feature quickly gained traction, becoming known as the “Photo dump” due to its ability to share multiple images and videos in a single, cohesive post.

As the popularity of the “Photo dump” grew, Instagram has responded by expanding the capacity to accommodate up to 20 media items in a single carousel. This update aims to give users even more flexibility to showcase their content and share diverse collections of photos and videos in one go.
