Honor, the once-sub-brand of Huawei that has since become independent, has launched its third foldable phone of the year in China, the Honor Magic VS2. It succeeds the Magic VS which was launched in China last November. This is the third foldable phone of the year launched by the company with Magic V2 being launched in July and the Magic V Purse that debuted last month.

The Honor Magic VS2 weighs 229 grams and measures 10.7mm in thickness when folded. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and features a 7.92-inch OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a 6.43-inch OLED outer display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens boast a cinematic 20:9 aspect ratio with 10-bit colour depth, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum, HDR10+ support, and a palette of 1.07 billion colours. Additionally, these displays are equipped to handle Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced content. Moreover, they come with TÜV Rheinland’s certification for flicker-free performance.

The camera specs of VS2 also find similarities with its predecessor. The phone features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies and video calling, it offers a 16MP front camera on both displays. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that can be fast-charged at up to 66W. The phone is expected to start shipping from October 17.

What really sets the Honor Magic VS2 apart from other foldable phones is its price. The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at CNY 6,999 (around INR 80,000), which makes it significantly more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Oppo Find N3 and even its own Magic V2.
