Meta announces the introduction of ‘Imagine’ its new image generation feature this week. With insights from Meta ’Imagine’ can enable users to create images in real time. Meta highlights that it will be rolling out the feature in beta to users on WhatsApp and the Meta AI website.
The ‘imagination’ behind ‘Imagine’!
From what it is understood, users just need to type the prompt ‘Imagine’ followed by a description of the image they’re trying to generate. Meta highlighted that the image has the potential to change ‘with every few letters typed.’
“The vast majority of consumers don’t candidly know or care too much about the underlying base model, but the way they will experience it is just as a much more useful, fun and versatile AI assistant,” Nick Clegg, president, global affairs, Meta, explained.
The next imagination!
Reportedly, Meta’s newest models were built with about 8 billion and 70 billion parameters. The measurement can be associated with how much data on which the system is trained. It is believed that Meta plans a bigger, roughly 400 billion-parameter model that is still in training.
With insights from the Associated Press, this week Meta’s AI agents were also spotted posing as humans with made-up life experiences. Critics argued that an official Meta AI chatbot added itself into a conversation in a private Facebook group for Manhattan moms, claiming that it, too, had a child in the New York City school district. However, when confronted later by group members, it apologised before the comments disappeared.
‘Meta plans big AI news as pretty wild,’ Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta, highlighted, as per insights from Axios. But Meta is still catching up to competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic. Experts believe that Meta is still training its larger models of Llama 3, and when released it might be on par with OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus, released in March.
