With Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference coming on Monday, CEO Tim Cook is expected to unveil a new vision of artificial intelligence. News comes in that during the WWDC 2024, Cook will be announcing a partnership with OpenAI.
As reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday, Apple is all but set to announce that the ChatGPT maker’s technology will be integrated into the iPhone operating system.
Tim Cook’s big reveal!
As reported by Business Insider, Wedbush analysts explained that this year’s WWDC could be “the most important event for Apple in over a decade as the pressure to bring a generative AI stack of technology for developers and consumers grows.”
It looks like by bringing an incumbent AI player such as OpenAI into its mix, Apple plans to change its iPhone stack in the AI era. Cook aims to shape a new internet experience for iPhone users in the AI era.
Future plans!
Experts suggest that the partnership with OpenAI can be a bold attempt to bring generative-AI features to its devices. Reportedly, it’s been months of questions from investors, developers, and others about Tim Cook’s plan to get hands on Silicon Valley’s most-talked-about technology.
Early incidents suggest that Apple has always been secret when it comes to revealing its plans. Critics argued that there’s been a growing sense that the company was falling behind on AI. Contrary to Apple’s plan, its rivals such as Google and Meta seem to be staying ahead with their own AI models. However, compared to Google and Meta, Microsoft was a bit late in this ‘AI adoption’ race.
However, neither Apple nor OpenAI has confirmed the deal yet. It was previously reported that “Apple had been in discussions with Google over an AI partnership, but OpenAI appears to have earned its favor.”
