At the Apple event 2025, Apple took the wraps off the new AirPods Pro 3rd generation. As the rumours had suggested, the new AirPods Pro have now embraced health monitoring as a new dimension of features. Other than keeping an eye on your heart rate and burnt calories, the new AirPods Pro are also taking care of the audio output performance. Apple says that compared to the outgoing model, the newer Pro version is two times better at noise cancelling and continues to sell at the same price of $249.

AirPods Pro 3 features: Everything you get with the new model
Apple claims the AirPods Pro 3 will set a new benchmark for audio quality and noise cancellation. The company stated that the new earbuds will deliver the “world’s best ANC,” a claim supported by new foam-infused ear tips designed for better noise isolation. This new design is said to provide twice the ANC performance of the previous generation. Beyond noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro 3 also feature a widened sound stage, promising an immersive and high-fidelity audio experience for music, videos, and podcasts.
Perhaps the most notable new feature is the integration of a custom PPG heart rate sensor, which is claimed to be Apple’s smallest to date. The sensor shines infrared light to measure light absorption in blood flow, providing continuous heart rate data. This health tracking capability works in tandem with the AirPods’ accelerometers, gyroscope, and GPS sensors.
Along with a new on-device AI model on the iPhone, the AirPods Pro 3 will now provide comprehensive workout data. A new ‘Workout Buddy’ experience within the iPhone’s fitness app leverages this data to offer users a personalised fitness history and coaching.
AirPods Pro also a live translator
The AirPods Pro 3 also feature a new live translation capability that enables seamless, hands-free communication. The feature works by lowering the volume of spoken language and playing a translation back to the user in their preferred language. For more direct interaction, users can use their iPhone as a horizontal display, which shows a live transcription of what the user is saying in the other person’s language.
Additionally, Apple has refined the earbuds’ design, analysing over 10,000 3D ear scans to create a more ergonomic shape with five ear tip sizes. The new earbuds also boast improved durability with an IP57 sweat and water resistance rating.
AirPods Pro 3 price in India
The AirPods Pro 3 will sell in India with a price tag of Rs 25,900 and will be available from September 19.
