Amazon has launched a new Fire TV Stick 4K in India today. This particular version was launched late last year and is called simply “the all-new Fire TV Stick 4K”. It is not the most powerful streaming player that Amazon makes today but it is “up to 30 percent faster” than its predecessor thanks to a new processor. It supports faster Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, too, and has generally more memory.
The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is priced at Rs 5,999 in India and it is available for pre-order on Amazon online at the time of writing. General availability is pegged for May 13, 2024. Alongside Amazon, the Fire TV Stick 4K will also be available across Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales.
“Our viewers’ preference is shifting to watching lifelike, ultra-cinematic video content from the comfort of their home. Customers seek streaming options that offer fast performance, superior picture and audio quality, smart features, immersive graphics for games, and so much more”, Anish Unnikrishnan, General Manager for Amazon Devices India said in a prepared statement. “With our most powerful Fire TV Stick 4K, customers will be able to enjoy an advanced and high-performance streaming at home,” he added.
The benefit of faster hardware cannot be overstated. In addition to faster response times, the next-generation update also makes the new Fire TV Stick 4K more future-proof. The Fire TV Stick 4K can stream 4K Ultra HD with support for Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+ standards and even, Dolby Atmos audio content. As we mentioned earlier, this is not the most powerful streaming player
