Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his real estate portfolio by purchasing three office units in the Veer Savarkar Signature building in Mumbai for approximately Rs 60 crore, according to documents accessed by FloorTap.com, a commercial real estate analytics platform.

Details of the Purchase

The newly acquired office spaces are located in the Signature Building, off Veera Desai Road in Andheri West. According to the documents, Bachchan paid Rs 59.58 crore for these units, which cumulatively measure 8,429 square feet. The sale deed was executed on June 20, 2024, and Bachchan paid a stamp duty of Rs 3.57 crore for the transaction. These commercial units come with three car parking slots. The property was sold by Veer Savarkar Projects Private Limited. Neither Bachchan nor the seller could be reached for immediate comment.

Previous Investments and Rentals

Bachchan already owns four office spaces in the Signature Building, purchased in August 2023. In December 2023, he rented out these four commercial units, totaling around 10,000 square feet in the Oshiwara area of Mumbai, for a yearly rent of Rs 2.07 crore and a security deposit of Rs 1.03 crore. With the addition of these three new units, Bachchan now owns seven office spaces in the Signature Building.

A Celebrity Hotspot

The Signature Building in Andheri West is popular among Bollywood celebrities, with several owning commercial spaces there. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, actors Kajol, Kartik Aaryan, and Sara Ali Khan are also property owners in this building. In July 2023, Kajol bought a 194 square-meter commercial space for Rs 7.64 crore. Similarly, actress Sara Ali Khan and her mother Amrita Singh purchased a unit on the fourth floor for Rs 9 crore in a deal registered on July 11, 2023. In September 2023, Kartik Aaryan acquired a unit on the fourth floor for Rs 10.09 crore, paying a stamp duty of Rs 47.55 lakh.

Other Major Deals

In May 2024, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan purchased six luxury apartments in Mumbai’s Borivali for Rs 15.42 crore. These apartments, cumulatively measuring 4,894 square feet, are located in Borivali’s posh Oberoi Sky City.

Earlier this month, Unity Small Finance Bank, owned by Centrum Group and BharatPe, purchased multiple floors in a commercial building in Santacruz East in Mumbai, totaling over 70,000 square feet for Rs 227 crore.

In October 2023, Kinnteisto LLP, managed by Rekha Jhunjhunwala, acquired over 1.94 lakh square feet of commercial office spaces in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), India’s costliest commercial district, and Chandivali area of Mumbai for around Rs 740 crore.
