Oracle’s multi-cloud strategy is gaining momentum, driving successful outcomes for customers globally, Premalakshmi PR, vice president, technology cloud at Oracle India, told FE. She highlighted how Oracle’s approach has supported transformative projects with companies like Vodafone and Team IM. “When Vodafone approached Oracle, it sought to modernise its entire application landscape and workloads by migrating them to six dedicated Oracle regions across Europe,” Premalakshmi said.Oracle also has also collaborated with Team IM to launch Team Cloud, New Zealand’s first locally-owned and operated hyperscale cloud platform. “It offers New Zealand businesses critical data residency and sovereignty benefits, which are essential for many organisations in the region,” she added.  To accelerate application migration and modernisation, Oracle has forged partnerships with leading hyperscalers such as AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

This strategy enables customers to leverage Oracle’s database technologies while seamlessly integrating with other cloud platforms.  “The most notable announcement in the cloud world has been the introduction of Oracle Database on AWS,” Premalakshmi said. This offering provides access to Oracle’s Autonomous Database and Exadata Database services on AWS’s dedicated infrastructure. “It ensures a unified experience between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS, simplifying tasks like database administration, billing and support. Users can also integrate with AWS analytics, EC2, and AI/ML services for a streamlined workflow,” she said.

Oracle’s tie-up with Google Cloud has also grown, with Oracle Database now available in four regions. “This integration facilitates cloud migrations, helping customers innovate faster by leveraging combined services,” Premalakshmi said.  Additionally, Oracle has deepened its partnership with Microsoft Azure, extending Oracle Database services to six Azure regions, with plans to expand to 15 more. This includes the Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service, which enhances data protection capabilities. “The multi-cloud era offers customers flexibility, allowing them to choose advanced database technologies from any leading hyperscaler to meet their specific needs,” she said. Oracle India has experienced robust growth across its offerings, fuelled by investments in AI, expansion into new geographies, and targeting diverse industries. “Cloud consumption in India has grown nearly 58% year-on-year,” Premalakshmi said, adding that Oracle added over 10 new customers in the public sector last quarter alone.  In the small and medium business (SMB) space, Oracle has achieved a CAGR of 79% in the lastt three years.

The demand for cloud migration remains strong, with sectors like banking, financial services and healthcare leading the shift from on-premise to cloud. Newer industries, such as fintech and NBFCs, are also showing significant interest. “We are seeing strong traction from fintech, NBFCs and cooperative banks as they adopt cloud solutions,” Premalakshmi said. “Oracle’s solutions are well-positioned to support this growing demand, particularly in sectors like banking and financial services, where cloud adoption is critical to driving innovation.”
