KyberSwap, a decentralised platform, might provide financial assistance to users affected by a significant exploit on November 22, 2023, which led to a $48.8 million loss. KyberSwap is believed to have established an initiative from its treasury to offer compensation to those adversely affected by the event, stated Cointelegraph.
The grant is expected to ease the financial burden on affected individuals and will equal the USD equivalent of the assets lost in the security breach. KyberSwap is believed to provide additional information within two weeks, added Cointelegraph.
Sources revealed that initially, the loss was about $47 million, which was later verified to be $48.8 million. In an attempt to reclaim the stolen assets, KyberSwap proposed a 10% reward to the scammer.
This partial recovery and the proposed treasury grants are expected to address security breaches faced by the platform, Cointelegraph concluded.
