October and November have witnessed the release of some landmark movies in Bollywood. Some went on to perform remarkably well at the box office, whereas some failed to impress the audience. Director Suresh Triveni’s Tumhari Sulu that hit the silver screen on November 17, 2017 despite opening on a cold note has surely gained pace with time. The film that also features Manav Kaul, Neha Dhupia, RJ Malishka collected Rs 16.56 cr till 5th day. Tumhari Sulu saw a sharp growth of 60.63 per cent, probably owing to the word of mouth, as per media reports. Tumhari Sulu is a comedy-drama and tells the story of a Mumbai housewife Sulochna or Sulu who lands a job of a night radio jockey at a radio station. The film comes as a breath of fresh air for its lead actress Vidya Balan, whose last few films have not fared well at the box office.

Bollywood film Aksar 2, which released on Friday, has started off decent at the box office. The film has earned more than a crore on the first day of its release in India. The film which clashed with Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu has earned Rs 4 cr by the end of 5 days. The film, a sequel to 2006 film Aksar, has been directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. The star cast of the film includes Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla, Zareen Khan and Mohit Madaan. Apart from television actor Gautam Rode, cricketer S Sreesanth is also making a new innings in Bollywood with this film.

Golmaal Again has made a dent at the box-office performing steadily even after a month of its release. The Rohit Shetty film, which released a day after Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar, has been able to charm the audience with its light comedy. Golmaal Again has become the second movie this year to enter the coveted Rs 200 cr club after Baahubali 2. It's latest earning in the box office stands at Rs 2014.02 cr. Golmaal Again opened with a whopping collection of Rs. 30.14 crore in India. The Diwali weekend also worked in the film’s favour as it managed to collect Rs 87.60 crore in India which is the highest opening weekend collection for this year. During the first week, when the film was competing with the Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar, Golmaal Again managed to rake up Rs. 136.07 crore in India.

Qarib Qarib Single starring Irrfan Khan and newcomer Parvathy is a fresh take on relationships. After a slow start on its opening day, the movie, directed by Tanuja Chandra, had picked up steam at the box office. The film by far has earned Rs 12.15 cr.
Advait Chandan directorial venture Secret Superstar that features ‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan and Dangal fame Zaira Wasim in the lead role had hit the screens on the Diwali weekend. The film that was released on October 19, 2017, had a subtle opening where it garnered Rs 4.80 cr on its opening day, subsequently, it earned Rs 41.59 cr at the end of its first week. Despite facing competition in both the domestic and international markets from the other release Golmaal Again, the film has been able to hold its own at the box office. At this juncture, Secret Superstar stands at Rs 62.74 cr.
