On India’s 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort. The Red Fort, where the country’s first Prime Minister hoisted the national flag in 1947, remains the traditional venue for this annual speech. The ceremonial contingent, composed of members from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police, greeted the Prime Minister upon his arrival.
PM Modi paid tribute to leaders, highlighted achievements like Operation Sindoor and advances in space, and announced next-generation GST reforms, calling it a “Double Diwali” gift. Calling out the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, he encouraged young people to lead India’s transformation, stressed inclusive development, and outlined the goal of a developed and empowered India by 2047, motivating citizens to work together for a “Viksit Bharat.” (Image source: PTI) -
