Salman Khan starrer Sultan box office collections are not dead, they are just about dying to get there! In yet another day's collection revelation, the film has reportedly earned the lowest-ever amount of Rs 1.15 crore in its run. The overall score of the movie within India has grown to Rs 292.75 crore and overall it has reached Rs 558.15 cr. Incredible sums. Remind you of fantasy lands, dream lands, Cloud 9, and what have you. But after notching these high numbers, why the desperation to hang on to eternity just to collect the loose change viewers are throwing your way?

Sultan's time in theaters is over. It made its mark and there is no reason to leave it in the still-running-in-cinemas category. Because the longer it stays there the greater the harm as it will be remembered as a movie that was put on life support and stretchered into the Rs 300 cr club on way to the morgue.

Each and every movie, each and every person will come to the cusp of a major achievement and it will see him or her fall short by a whisker. For want of a better example, just check out how many times cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid or yes, Virat Kohli too may have fallen short of the 50 or 100 marks. No need to delve over the-what-could-have-beens, just get on with your life. That is the realistic message for one and all.

For those who start lagging and refuse to say die, there should be a filmy watchdog which decides for itself and then calls time on a movie. Just thik what a service to humanity, OK, OK, service to cinema goers this would be.

Not just Salman Khan with Sultan, other actors have been just as guilty. For instance check out Aamir Khan with PK, the biggest Bollywood movie ever at the B.O.: it tarried for 24 days with the lowest amount collected being Rs 1.82 cr; Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale stayed in cinemas till the 22nd day and the worst it collected was as low as Rs 0.78 cr; another Aamir starrer Dhoom 3 logged a low of Rs 1.64 cr. Of course, Akshay Kumar's Airlift took the cake: Day 57 to Day 63 – Rs 0.01 cr! We rest our case.
