In a first, and what has shocked many analysts and fans of both actors, Kamal Haasan has created a history of sorts in his personal relationship, by missing out on watching Rajinikanth's Kabali movie which has been skyrocketing on the popularity and box office collections charts to become one of the most successful films ever – the earnings have climbed as high as Rs 450 cr by day 5. Keeping in mind that for Rajinikanth, Kabali was a last shot at redemption, after two consecutive movies fared very badly at the box office, one would have assumed that close friend Kamal Haasan would have given an arm and a leg to get the chance to get to watch the movie, but that has not happened, he in fact gave it a miss. We are told that he failed to see it at all – it almost cost him a leg though! And this is despite a special screening being arranged for Haasan by Rajinikanth. (Image Source: Twitter)

Rajinikanth wanted Kamal Haasan to see Kabali as he values his friend's inputs and also because it pleases him no ends to show he holds views of those he considers dear as important. Rajinikanth is known to be of such a mind. In fact, his one-time mentor, a bus conductor along with him who had been instrumental in turning Rajinikanth into a superstar, is another person whose views Thalaivar values immensely and waits for his phone call to tell him how he liked the movie. The blame for missing Rajinikanth's Kabali movie release has been put squarely on the horrific injury Kamal Haasan suffered last week, multiple fractures of the leg, that confined him to the bed with all movement banned. Deccan Chronicle had reported this and also Kamal Haasan himself reacted to say, “It’s sad. But the timing of the accident doesn’t allow me to watch the film. I will do so as soon as I can.” He added, “Yes I’m recovering. It’s a quick recovery according to doctors. But it’s a tad more painful than my previous hospital sojourns. I’m off the radar for a month and for once, not thinking about work at all”. (Image Source: Twitter)

To put things in perspective and perhaps apportion blame equally to himself too, Kamal Haasan went on to add that, “It happened so suddenly and the reason of the fall was so silly, I can’t even talk about it. I fool around in my office at Eldams Road (Chennai) all the time. But this time it was for a pointless, avoidable reason.” (Image Source: Twitter)

Not only has this injury robbed Kamal Hassan of the chance to see Rajinikanth's Kabali in a special show, it has also put a spanner in the works of his upcoming film. Haasan explained, “I’m the director and the male lead of Sabaash Naidu. Until I recover, the film remains suspended.” (Image Source: Twitter)
