Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Kabali' box office collections, have soared to Rs 11.4 crore by day 2 in the restricted north Indian market – the reach of a south Indian star in this region is limited to those who are of South Indian origin, although Rajinikanth has paved the way for a wider audience with Kabali as can be seen by the rising earnings. No one had expected the Kabali collection first day to rise so much in such a short span of time and second day earnings are just the cherry on the top! The final tally is bound to be a big surprise for Fox Studios which has distributed the movie in this region. (AP)

Kabali prediction for opening weekend is that teh trend is expected to continue and Rajinikanth may well see the collection rise higher to perhaps in the double digit area just for Sunday. It would be a difficult task, but based on what has happened so far and with the hype surrounding they movie increasing phenomenally, this cannot be ruled out. Kabali is a thriller about a don who is looking to redeem himself in this tale of revenge by securing equal rights for Tamils in Malaysia. (Reuters)
