But Kuch Kuch Locha Hai also has Ram Kapoor in a leading role. The contrast was too much for the public and even though the producers said it would have everyone laughing in their seats, the cinemagoers decided they did not want any part of it. As a result Kuch Kuch Locha Hai box office collections got off to a horrific start on day 1 itself with the occupancy rate on Friday being recorded at a downright unflattering 20%. Not that there was too much competition stopping Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. The rivals current in theatres are Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back, which released a week before the Sunny Leone starrer, and Amitabh Bachchan's Piku, which too has not really drawn too much of a crowd to theatres. A contributory factor creating big box office collections problems for Sunny Leone's Kuch Kuch Locha Hai may well be the fact that the Indian Censor Board slapped an 'A' certificate on it – the movie itself had been all along been promoted as a family entertainer – most 'Adult' sex comedies are released with several beeps and cuts.
