Tata Motors' pavilion at the Auto Expo 2016 is probably one of the most exciting ones, as the company has put on display over 20 new vehicles across its passenger and commercial vehicle segments. Besides showcasing the soon-to-be-launched Tata Zica, the home-grown automaker also displayed three all-new cars – Kite sedan, Nexon and Hexa – that will be rolled out in the next 1 year. Also on display is a special edition Tata Safari Storme and a more powerful version of the Tata Bolt. Here are the top 5 Tata cars at Auto Expo 2016 –

1. Tata Nexon First showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept, the production-ready model of the Tata Nexon was showcased at the 13th edition of the Motor Show. Set to rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, the Tata Nexon could be launched later this year or early 2017. Similar to the Bolt and the Zest, the Nexon too is built on the X1 platform, though it looks completely different from any other Tata cars we have seen to date. The car shares its engine with the new-generation Tata cars.

2. Tata Hexa Another SUV from Tata that made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 is the Hexa that will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Honda BR-V upon its launch. Similar to Zica, Zest and Bolt, the Tata Hexa too has been designed with inputs from three design studios – India, UK and Italy. The Tata Hexa is based on a modified Aria platform and thus shares its engine with the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The engine that powers the Hexa is a 2.2-litre VariCor 400 diesel that comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine churns out 154.2bhp and 400Nm.

4. Tata Zica The home-grown carmaker is also displaying the soon-to-be-launched Tata Zica hatchback at its Auto Expo 2016 pavilion. Though the company has already announced to rename the car due to its resemblance with the 'Zika' virus, the car displayed here still carries the same badge since it will take some more days for the company to finalise the new name and re-brand it.

5. (In photo, Tata Bolt) Tata Bolt Sport Powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill, the Tata Bolt Sport is a performance-oriented version of the regular hatchback. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine churns out a whooping 120bhp at 5,500rpm and 170Nm between 2,000rpm – 3,000rpm. The car could be launched under Tata Motors'new performance brand that will be introduced in India later this year.
