Karbonn Mobiles launches 4G phone 'Quattro': Mobile device maker Karbonn today launched 4G smartphone Karbonn Quattro L50, embedded with its own user interface Karbonn Kandy, for Rs 7,990. "Cutting down on multiple menus, Kandy offers an integrated PCM, wherein users can access the dialer, contacts, logs and messages within a single menu with one swipe," Karbonn said in a statement. It further said that Kandy interface also provide users with an option to customise their notification and shortcuts tabs to choose which notifications and functions they would want to access on priority, giving one touch access to all the frequently used features.

Facebook adds Android app support for anonymity service Tor: Users of Facebook Inc's Android app can now privately browse the world's largest social network through the anonymity service Tor, the company said on Tuesday. The feature expands a collaboration that allowed Facebook users to directly access its site via Tor's browser on personal computers. It comes as policymakers and technology companies debate whether digital privacy should be curbed to help regulators more easily thwart hackers. Kate Krauss, a spokeswoman for the Tor Project, a group of developers that oversees development of the anonymity software, said Android support could help expand Tor due to Facebook's large following. Flipkart invests in parenting social network Tinystep: Tinystep, a parenting social network, today said it has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Flipkart. The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the funds to develop the product, enhance user experience and strengthen its team, Tinystep said in a statement. The funding will also be utilised to further accelerate the company's growth and user engagement, it added. Tinystep is a mobile app that helps parents connect with each other to communicate, guide and collaborate with each other on parenting with features like Q&A Forum, individual and group chats.

Johnson & Johnson to cut about 3,000 jobs in medical devices: Johnson & Johnson expects to cut about 3,000 jobs over the next two years as the health care conglomerate works to restructure its medical devices business. The New Brunswick, New Jersey, company says that amounts to more than 2 percent of its global workforce of around 127,000 people and 4 percent to 6 percent of its employee total in medical devices. Coca-Cola consolidates marketing for namesake colas: Coca-Cola, under pressure for selling sugary drinks, is unveiling a new global campaign that for the first time unites its flagship cola with diet versions. The Atlanta company says the "Taste the Feeling" campaign will feature Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Light, Coke Zero and Coke Life, a newer version of the soda made with a mix of sugar and stevia. Rail budget 2016: Facing resource crunch, Indian Railways is said to be mulling the possibility of effecting a 5 to 10 per cent increase in the passenger fares in the coming budget to be presented by Suresh Prabhu on 25th February, while FM Arun Jaitley will present the Union Budget on 29th February, 2016. The proposal is being considered against the backdrop of a decline in both passenger and freight earnings and the additional burden of Rs 32,000 cr towards implementing the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, Railway Ministry sources said. Amazon announces Great Indian Sale: If you have missed the Diwali and New Year sales put forth by the e-commerce players, here's your chance. Amazon India is back with its 72 hours deal marathon Great Indian Sale starting January 21. The company is offering discounts ranging from 20-40% on more than 40 international brands that have been launched on Amazon in the last six months, the company announced on Monday. Customers can access the deals from their PCs, mobile phones or mobile app. The e-commerce giant has seen sales growing four times last year over 2014, while nearly tripling the number of sellers on its platform.
