Much before its launch in January 2016, the Tata Zica hatchback has been revealed through official images. Developed in-house with the help of three Tata Motors design studios – Pune, Turin and Coventry – the Zica certainly is one of the better looking Tata cars ever made. With an expected price range of Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh, the Tata Zica could replace the Indica eV2.

1. Tata Zica is the third completely new product under the company's HorizoNext umbrella. The first two were Zest sub-compact sedan and the Bolt hatchback. The upcoming budget hatchback features Tata's new signature grille, but it looks narrower in comparison to the one on the Zest and the Bolt.

2. With prominent character line on sides, multi-spoke alloys, all-new wrap-around tail-lights, body-coloured door handles, sloping rear windshield, integrated rear spoiler and other styling elements, the Tata Zica looks quite sporty.

3. Built on a modified XO platform, on which the Indica is based, the Tata Zica will be made available in two engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel. While the petrol unit is the same that powers the Bolt and the Zest albeit with less power, the diesel engine is an all-new unit.

4. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh, the Tata Zica will rival some of the top-selling cars in the country including Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Hyundai Eon and others in the budget hatchback space.

5. Set to debut in the first week of December 2015, the vehicle is scheduled to be launched in the first half of January 2015.
