People across India are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi from the famed Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai where the darshan and aarti draw mammoth crowds, to Goa and more to honour the god of auspicious beginnings and prosperity. Ganesh Chaturthi is a 10-day festival that, every year, ensures cities wear a deserted look, except where the idols were located and nearby areas, while villages bustled with people returning home during holidays to attend the revelry.
