Two buildings in Greater Noida collapsed on Tuesday night killing at least three persons and trapping several others under the debris. A six-storey under-construction building collapsed into an adjacent building in Shah Beri village of Greater Noida last night. The first building collapsed and fell on the second building causing it to collapse under the impact, too.

There were at least 12 labourers that were in the under-construction building when the incident took place and all of them were feared trapped. (PTI)

The police personnel and firefighters were assisted by two teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the ongoing rescue operations. (PTI)

Near about 100 people were involved in the night long rescue effort using cranes to clear the rubble. (PTI)

According to ANI, three people who were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident were the builder and his two associates. (PTI)

The residents of the area said that all the constructions there were illegal and neither the builder nor the government nor the authorities looked after the matter. A localite, S Dubey, told ANI that they had met MLA Tejpal Nagar in this regard but nothing was done. They had also met with the DM & SSP of the area but to no avail. (PTI)
