Nithin Kamath, the Founder and CEO of Zerodha, has shared his experience on Instagram, a platform he admits he is still learning to navigate. In a recent post on LinkedIn, Kamath humorously confessed that he was struggling to get the hang of Instagram. He said the platform felt “complex” and left him wondering if he was simply “too old” to understand it.
The post quickly went viral, receiving over 1,400 likes and numerous comments from industry peers, friends, and followers. Kamath’s candid remarks resonated with many, as they reflected the common struggle people experience when trying to master a new platform. Ishant Sharma, a Dynamics 365 Business Central & Power Platform expert, pointed out the unique reactions public figures receive compared to ordinary individuals. Sharma observed, “If a regular uncle had posted this, it would have been seen as cringe or out of touch, but since it’s Nithin, the post seems funny.”
The post also prompted some light-hearted responses from professionals within Kamath’s network. Somu Vadali, a startup advisor, cheekily commented, “Now you know how we struggle with the Zerodha UX :))”, highlighting the humour in Kamath’s own struggles with technology. Others, such as Satya Sontanam from Zerodha Varsity, even joked about collaborating on Instagram, offering tips on sharing content between posts and stories.
