The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus has officially arrived in India. The lineup is headlined by the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. Xiaomi says it has updated the phone in almost all aspects from chipset down to cameras and battery capacity. The design, too, is more durable than before. Xiaomi also went ahead and priced it broadly in line with the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus—shutting down all speculation of a potential price hike—although with a slight caveat that the base model now starts with 128GB of storage, not 256GB like its predecessor.

In the days leading into launch, Xiaomi had hyped up the series—and its evolution—saying, the Redmi Note is not the same anymore, but different. Rightly so, if the specs and features, are anything to go by. It’s very noteworthy. But as different as the new Redmi Note is—or has become—the more some things remain the same. Like the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, the Note 14 Pro Plus is also launching with older software. This is Android 14-based HyperOS and not HyperOS 2.0 with Android 15. There is no update when the upgrade is coming, either, but it should come around early next year.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus: Top specs, features, everything else you need to know

The Note 14 Pro Plus has a new design and uses new—stronger—build materials. It features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the back and Victus 2 on the front. Xiaomi says the setup is exclusive not only to the price segment, but an exclusive for the whole smartphone space. The ingress rating has also been enhanced with the addition of IP69 (in addition to IP68) which makes the phone resistant to water jets and steam cleaning.

The screen is a 6.67-inch 1.5K resolution 120Hz AMOLED, same as the Note 13 Pro Plus, but it can—now—get brighter at up to 3,000 nits. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are natively supported. The fingerprint reader sits below the screen and is of the optical type.

Powering the new Note is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 paired to a 5000mm2 vapour chamber cooling system and up to 12GB of RAM. Storage can go up to 512GB. Battery gets bigger and crosses the 6,000mAh threshold in this generation. Xiaomi in fact claims the 6,200mAh battery in the Note 14 Pro Plus is “EV-grade.”

Unlike brands like iQOO and Realme, Xiaomi didn’t change and opt for a smaller battery for the Indian market, which suggests it was up to task with regulatory clearance on time. The charging speed has dropped to 90W (versus 120W in the Note 13 Pro Plus) but it seems calculated and thought-out. You get a compliant charger in the box.

For photography, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus has a trio of sensors on the back—50-megapixel f/1.6 wide with optical image stabilization, 50-megapixel 2.5x telephoto, and 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera, too, gets upgraded from 16MP to 20MP.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and IR emitter. The phone has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos playback and is guaranteed to get 3 major OS and 4 years of security updates.
