Spotify has expanded the list of countries eligible for ‘AI playlists,’ its new feature. According to an official blog, Spotify said that it will roll out the feature to more countries. However, it’s still not available for the Indian market.
Earlier available only to Beta testers, the ‘AI playlist’ feature is all set to come for Spotify premium users. Initially, the feature was only available to a limited number of countries, but now more countries have been added to the list.
Decoding AI playlists
The musical platform announced that starting from today, ‘AI Playlist’ in English is rolling out to more countries. The blog further added that the feature will only be available to Premium users on Android and iOS devices in the eligible countries. The eligible list includes New Zealand, Canada, US and Ireland.
But what is an ‘AI playlist’ and how can it upgrade your Spotify playlist? With the addition of artificial intelligence (AI), you can get a playlist specially created for you. You get a prompt option, where you can type what you are looking for. AI will assemble a list of songs based on your prompt. In addition to this you can also get pre-built prompts.
Furthermore, Spotify also explained that their prompts can include all sorts of things. This includes prompts related to places, animals, activities, movie characters and colours, among others. Spotify also claimed that they are creating a safe space and looking at security structures regarding misuse of AI. In case someone prompts illegal contexts, the company can take some measures. So, type your prompts with responsibility.
How to create a playlist with AI
So, how can you create a playlist just for you with AI. Here’s how you can create a custom playlist with AI:
- Start by going to your Library. Then click on the “+” button. You can find the button at the top-right corner of the app.
- Then you will see an option named ‘AI playlist.’ Select that.
- Next you will be suggested with a list of prompts. You can also create your own prompt. Select any of the two options.
- Spotify will curate a personalized playlist featuring the tracks, artists, and genres we think you’ll like.
- From there, you can easily manage the selection of songs by previewing and deleting tracks, or ask Spotify to refine the playlist with additional prompts.
- Tap “Create,” and your new playlist will be saved automatically in Your Library.
