Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event is still a few hours away but as is the nature of these things, someone, somewhere at Samsung decided why wait, even that long. As if the leaks weren’t enough, Samsung’s own Ecuadorian website briefly listed the “yet-to-launch” Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra with full design and probable pricing (probable because it could be placeholder text). The listings have since been taken down but you know how, the Internet never forgets, right?
Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra launch
An archive of both the links is available for anyone who wishes to get an early look at the “real deal”. But we’ll save you some time and tell you right here, right now that, the phones look exactly how you probably imagined them to be based on a ton of leaks leading into today’s big-ticket Samsung launch event. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will indeed come in a choice of four colours— black, gray, violet and yellow. The Galaxy S24 (as also the Galaxy S24 Plus) will have the same options, though the design scheme and build will be vastly different.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be flat and boxy, much like the Galaxy S23 Ultra and boast of a Titanium frame. An unboxing video of the phone that’s doing the rounds suggests a colour-matched frame for some of these models primarily the yellow and gray. The Galaxy S24 (as also the Galaxy S24 Plus) will be flat, too, but they’ll come with rounded edges and of course a smaller footprint. These models are expected to bag seemingly more regular metal sides.
As we mentioned in our preview piece, this year’s flagship Galaxy smartphones will be less about the hardware specs and more about Generative AI features. Samsung is doubling down on Gen AI efforts on these phones under its newly introduced Galaxy AI suit that promises to bring improved user experience to the Galaxy S24 series with features like AI Live Translate and more. Samsung’s Unpacked Galaxy S24 series launch event kicks off at 11:30 PM later tonight and will be available to stream worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates.
