Poco throws its hat in the Android tablet ring, launches Poco Pad with 5G for Rs 23,999

Poco, a Xiaomi spin-off brand, has launched its first Android tablet in India. Called simply the Poco Pad, this new tablet boasts a large 12.1-inch screen and 5G connectivity, at an affordable price of Rs 23,999. The tablet is based on Xiaomi’s HyperOS software and comes powered by a ginormous 10,000mAh battery.  

As is usually the case with these things, Poco has also launched Poco Pad specific accessories including a keyboard folio and stylus, though it is yet to announce their prices. Given that the tablet is so cheap, the accessories are expected to be aggressively priced, too.

Poco Pad 5G: India price, availability

The Poco Pad 5G is priced at Rs 23,999 for 8GB/128GB and Rs 25,999 for 8GB/256GB. There is no stand-alone Wi-Fi-only variant at the time of writing. It will go on sale on Flipkart starting August 27.

The Poco Pad 5G has a 12.1-inch 2.5K (2560x1600p) resolution LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision playback support. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor and 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Running the show is Android 14-based HyperOS with a new Xiaomi app called Interconnectivity that allows for seamless integration with Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones.

The tablet supports expandable storage up to 1.5TB and comes with a quad-speaker setup. Dolby Atmos is supported natively. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front as well as on the back.

The Poco Pad 5G comes in a choice of pistachio green and cobalt blue.
