OnePlus has announced a lineup of new devices set to debut at its “summer” event in Italy on July 16. The launch will feature the Nord 4 smartphone, the Pad 2 tablet, Nord Buds 3 Pro wireless earbuds, and the Watch 2R smartwatch, targeting global markets, including India.
The Nord 4 is notable for being the “first all-metal smartphone of the 5G era,” according to OnePlus, harkening back to the era of metal-bodied phones which the company last launched with the OnePlus 5T in 2017. OnePlus highlights the metal design as a “symbol of design excellence” that was “abandoned with the rise of 5G.”
Unlike previous models, the Nord 4 is a new device rather than a rebranded version of a Chinese model. Leaked images show a dual-tone finish of glass and metal, with horizontally aligned dual cameras.
Tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed that the Nord 4 will feature a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,150 nits of peak brightness. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor and a 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
The phone is expected to run Android 14, with three years of major OS updates and four years of security updates. Camera specs include a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, with a 16-megapixel front camera.
The OnePlus Pad 2 is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Pad Pro, currently exclusive to China. The Watch 2R is expected to be the global variant of the OnePlus Watch 2 eSIM edition, aiming to provide a lightweight and efficient smartwatch experience.
