In a recent address at the Annual Conversations conference in Mumbai, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, expressed his excitement about hosting the event in India. He acknowledged India’s pivotal role in embracing messaging as a powerful tool for individuals and businesses alike.
“[India is] a country that’s at the forefront of a lot of what we’re going to talk about today,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed via a virtual meeting at 2nd Annual Conversations in Mumbai, India. He continued by saying, “You’re [India is] leading the world in terms of how people and businesses have embraced messaging as the better way to get things done.”

Notably, Mark Zuckerberg has quite an old relationship with this country. During a town hall meeting in 2015 where he was joined by PM Modi, he recalled a phase when Steve Jobs had advised him to visit a temple in Uttarakhand, India. It is believed that he had, then upon his advice, paid a visit to the Ashram of Baba Neem Karoli popularly known as Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon Hills.

Later, in Mumbai via virtual address, he emphasized some new WhatsApp features: WhatsApp flows, new features for WhatsApp Businesses, as well as Meta Verified for businesses. He also hinted at a potential launch timeline for Meta verified (Businesses) and it could be around in the coming month, so quite possibly by the end of this year or next year’s beginning.
