Reliance Jio is rolling out an enticing offer to its 5G users, encouraging them to subscribe to its high-speed JioAirFiber service, according to online reports. Under this new scheme, customers can book a JioAirFiber connection for just Rs 1,111, which provides 50 days of service. Jio typically provides AirFiber plans with 3-, 6-, and 12-month validity.
The Rs 1,111 plan for Jio 5G users works out to less than Rs 750 per month, making it an affordable option for those looking to upgrade their internet experience. Additionally, Jio is reportedly waiving the Rs 1,000 installation fee for customers availing this plan. Jio makes no mention of such a scheme on both its app and website at the time of writing. Apparently, Jio 5G users are being notified of the service through a text message (via Telecom Talk).
What is Jio AirFiber?
JioAirFiber, the Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) service, is transforming broadband in India, if Jio’s sales numbers are anything to go by. Utilising Jio’s standalone 5G network and advanced point-to-multipoint deployment, the service is designed to enable fast, reliable internet for homes across the country. In its recent quarterly report (ending June 30, 2024), Reliance Jio reported over 1.1 million new home connections, the highest ever in a single quarter. Jio aims to expand further, targeting nearly 1 million new home connections each month.
Jio has been actively promoting JioAirFiber with lucrative incentives. In August, it introduced a complimentary Rs 3,599 annual prepaid plan for new customers. This plan offered 2.5GB of daily data for an entire year, with a refundable booking fee of just Rs 50. Earlier promotional campaigns also waived the Rs 1,000 installation fee for 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month plans.

JioAirFiber offers plans starting at Rs 599 per month, catering to different speed requirements, from 30 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Each plan includes a generous 1,000GB data cap, and users who exceed this limit can purchase additional data packs to ensure uninterrupted service. To sweeten the deal, many plans bundle free access to popular streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, making JioAirFiber a value-packed option for home internet.
