Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup at its “Awe Dropping” launch event scheduled for September 9, 2025. The new generation is expected to introduce four variants: the standard iPhone 17, the slimmer iPhone 17 Air, along with the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11 and a refreshed version of the AirPods Pro. The iPhone 17 price in India is expected to start at around $799 for the base model, while the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max could cost close to $1,200, making it one of the expensive iPhones yet. Macrumors reports suggest the iPhone 17 Air, replacing the Plus model, could be priced at $900. The iPhone 17 Pro could be set at about $1,099. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple’s most premium model, is likely to cost between $1,200 and $1300.

In India, the iPhone 17 is expected to start at around Rs 79,990 for the base model. The new iPhone 17 Air, replacing the Plus variant, could be priced at Rs 99,990, while the iPhone 17 Pro may come in at about Rs 1,24,990. The top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max is likely to be Apple’s most expensive iPhone yet, priced between Rs 1,59,990 and Rs 1,64,990.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max are both expected to feature a 24MP front-facing camera capable of delivering 2x digital crops without compromising image quality. On the rear, the iPhone 17 Air may stick to a single 48MP primary lens, missing out on additional options like telephoto and ultra-wide shooters. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to receive a significant upgrade to its telephoto sensor, jumping from 12MP on the previous generation to 48MP. If accurate, this would give the flagship device a trio of 48MP cameras on its back panel.

Rumors indicate that Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro series will introduce an all-new design shift, moving away from the titanium construction used in the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro. This change marks another step in Apple’s evolving material choices, following the transition from stainless steel frames that defined the Pro lineup from the iPhone X through the iPhone 14 generation. Alongside this, reports suggest the Pro editions will sport a refreshed back design that blends aluminum with glass, creating a sleeker and more premium look.
