Some say that the iPhone 17 series is going to be more pricey than the iPhone 16 series.
The 2025-2026 iPhone lineup is rumoured to include four models: the vanilla iPhone 17, the new slim and trim iPhone 17 Air, the feature-packed iPhone 17 Pro, and the maxed-out iPhone 17 Pro Max. All these models are expected to feature the next-gen A19 series chipsets, 120Hz refresh rate displays as standard, new Apple Intelligence features and more.

According to the latest leaks, Apple might maintain a similar pricing strategy to last year for India. The base iPhone 17, which could come with 128GB storage as standard, is expected to start at around Rs 79,900 in India. This could encourage more buyers to upgrade to the new model, considering the planned upgrades like a 120Hz refresh rate display, a 24MP front camera, a bigger battery and new Apple Intelligence features.
Despite the 50 per cent trade tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, the price in the US is also anticipated to remain steady at $799. Apple is manufacturing more iPhone 17 units in India, with most of them earmarked to be exported to the US.
iPhone 17 Air price in India and US
A major change this year is the introduction of the iPhone 17 Air, which is said to replace the Plus model. This new device is expected to be priced competitively, with a rumoured range of $899 to $949 in the US. Similarly, the pricing in India is expected to be somewhere between Rs 89,990 to Rs 99,990.
Unlike the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 17 Air will focus on a slim 5.5mm slim body, a 120Hz OLED display, a faster A19 Pro chipset and a single 48MP rear camera.
iPhone 17 Pro price in US, India
For the high-end market, the iPhone 17 Pro is tipped to see a price increase, possibly by $100 in the US, bringing its price to around $1,099. This is the first time Apple is bumping the price for its Pro variant.
In India, this could translate to a price of approximately Rs 1,30,000 for the base model. Rumours suggest that Apple could upgrade the base storage to 256GB to justify the hiked prices. The iPhone 17 Pro is also getting assembled in India this year.

The top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max is likely to maintain its pricing, expected to stay close to Rs 1,44,900 in the Indian market. For the US market, buyers could expect a price hike by $100 to absorb the new material and upgrade costs.
Beyond the iPhones, the event is also expected to showcase other Apple products. Rumours suggest the launch of new Apple Watch Series 11 models, updated AirPods Pro, and the unveiling of new Apple Intelligence features.
