According to a Reuters report, the AI company is expected to release a series of new features at its first-ever developer conference in San Francisco on November 6.
The updates will include the addition of memory storage to OpenAI’s developer tools. This will allow applications to run faster and more efficiently, potentially reducing costs by up to 20 times. The company is also planning to unveil new tools like vision capabilities that will let developers efficiently build apps with image-analysing abilities.
The updates are part of OpenAI’s broader effort to make AI more accessible and affordable for businesses of all sizes. The company’s sources revealed that the new features are designed to attract more businesses.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT debuted last November and in no time became one of the most widely-used services. However, it has been experiencing a financial strain lately due to decreasing user engagement and competition from other AI alternatives.
The company is also facing challenges in getting other companies to use its technology for building their own apps. Company’s CEO Sam Altman is therefore determined to make OpenAI a crucial part of other companies’ app development.
According to Reuters report, Altman has been meeting with developers to create a new ecosystem based on OpenAI’s models, which are already used in various applications like DoorDash and the writing assistant Jasper.
OpenAI plans to release a “stateful API,” which will make it more cost-effective for companies to create applications. This API can remember conversation history, reducing the costs for developers. Another update is the “vision API,” allowing developers to create software that can analyse images. The company aims to offer multi-modal capabilities that can process and generate different types of media like text, images, audio, and video.
