Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been known to be one of the few compassionate senior leaders in the world of big tech, winning the hearts of people with his simple and down-to-earth responses. In one of his recent engagements with a fellow techie from Bengaluru, Pichai demonstrated once again his compassionate side, providing emotional support and empathy.
The post, which was shared by the techie on LinkedIn, described a recent accident involving his son, who suffered a serious injury. The father’s narrative expressed a mix of fear, helplessness, and gratitude for the timely medical care his son received. He wrote about the immense pain of seeing his child in distress, a feeling many parents could relate to, and the relief that came with the successful treatment and the prospect of his son’s recovery.
“Came to the hospital directly from the office today. My son is in the emergency ward with a head injury. He fell on the floor and suffered a deep cut above his eyebrows, down to the bone. He needs to undergo surgery for the stitching process,” wrote the techie.
Sundar Pichai reponds to techie’s heartfelt post
The post quickly garnered widespread attention, with thousands of people from various professional backgrounds sharing messages of support and well-wishes for the family.
“Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. Ethan is doing well, and we will be going home later today. Truly grateful for all the love and support,” wrote the grateful father.
However, one of the personalities responding to the techie’s story was Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. In a gesture of solidarity for a fellow techie, Pichai commented on the viral post, stating, “Glad he is okay”. The techie responded by adding, “Thanks, he is a very brave boy.”
Pichai’s response earned him accolades
Pichai’s response was met with appreciation from the online community, with many users praising him for his compassion and taking time out of his busy schedule to acknowledge such a personal and emotional post.
One user wrote, “Sundar is a man of the people. I love Google. I google all the time. I googled just a minute ago.”
Another person commented, “You’re really lucky @ai_for_success — @sundarpichai himself is caring for your son 🙌✨”
