Google will be expanding its ‘Help me write,’ feature. Earlier available only for mobile users, now it will be available for web users also. In an official blog, Google announced about the update.
Web users will be able to see a prompt named ‘help me write,’ similar to the mobile version. You can use this prompt to draft a mail or let artificial intelligence (AI) help you in writing any form of content.
‘Help me write’ available to web users
As of now Google’s “Help me write” feature is only available to users who have subscribed to Google One AI Premium. Also, users who have the Gemini add-on for Workspace will be able to access the feature.
So, how does the ‘help me write;’ feature work? Suppose you have to write an email. But you don’t know where to start. The ‘help me write’ feature will help you write an email. You just need to write a prompt. Lo and behold your mail is ready to be sent. In addition to this the feature can also give you suggestions. This can include how you can shorten a paragraph, convert your content into a formal way and elaborate an explanation, among others.
So, how can you get these tools? For the web version, you can type Ctrl + H to quickly refine your email. In addition to this you can also click directly on the shortcut. For mobile users, the option will replace the existing “Refine my draft” shortcut.
Other updates
In addition to the above mentioned features, Google will also bring the ‘polish’ option. Notably, this option is already available in the ‘help me write’ tool kit. You can get this option in small content consisting of just 12 words. Earlier , to use this tool, you had to swipe to see options to formalize, polish, elaborate, or shorten an email. Now the app will automatically refine the message when the “polish” shortcut is swiped.
You can also make changes or tweak your messages with the ‘help me write,’ tool. Furthermore, Google will gradually roll out the “Help me write” on the web and the “polish” shortcut together starting from today.
In other news, Google is also working on an AI tool named ‘Project Jarvis,’ as reported by The Information. The upcoming AI tool will help you to automate your web-based tasks. Moreover, AI can now operate computers similar to humans. The project is expected to be available by the end of December 2024.
