This plan has been strategically placed between the paid and the free plans of ChatGPT. It offers faster and capable AI responses compared to the free plan, apart from offering usage limits which are ten times the basic version. Additionally with this plan users can create images, upload files, generate longer conversations, and ask ChatGPT to summarise or analyse documents. The plan also includes memory capabilities, allowing the chatbot to recall previous interactions and offer more personalised answers over time.
However now that this plan has been made free for all users for an year in India. Here’s how you can access it and take advantage of the announcement.
Step 1:
To claim the offer, Indian users simply need to log in or sign up on the ChatGPT website or mobile app.
Step 2:
Once logged in, eligible users can enable ChatGPT Go at no cost.
Interestingly all current ChatGPT Go users can be upgraded to the free 12 month plan. Existing subscribers don’t need to cancel or reapply for the free access, as it will be activated for them as part of the new rollout. After the one-year period ends, regular pricing will resume unless the plan is cancelled.
Nick Turley, OpenAI’s Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, said the move aims to make advanced AI tools available to a wider audience. “Ahead of our first DevDay Exchange event in India, we’re making ChatGPT Go freely available for a year to help more people across India easily access and benefit from advanced AI. We’re excited to see the amazing things our users will build, learn, and achieve with these tools,” he said, according to The Indian Express.
Open AI decision to make it’s ChatGPT GO plan free for one year reflects a broader trend in the industry. The trend being AI companies shifting their focus and attention towards India.
