Apple’s smart home display has been in the news for quite some time. Now Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman finally throws some light on the detailed features of the rumored smart home display. Gurman says that the smart home display will have controls similar to Amazon Echo Hub. Also the device will be an ‘AI wall-mounted tablet.’

Well, it’s been months now that Apple’s smart home display has been in the news. On November 13, according to The Verge, Gurman had finally come up with some suggestions about how the most awaited product will look.

Apple to bring ‘AI wall Tablet’ display

According to Mark Gurman, Apple’s smart home device  will be an iPad-like device having a six-inch display. It will also have an in-built camera with speakers and rechargeable battery. Additionally, it could also have Apple Intelligence and Siri voice control support. It is also expected that the smart display will allow you to control Home-Kit compatible  security cameras,  lights, sensors and thermostats, among others.

The base of the smart display is suggested to be suitable for hanging on a  wall and keeping it on a tabletop. The model could possibly look like a mixture of iPhone’s recent ‘StandBy’ mode and the operating system (OS) of Apple Watch. In addition to this, it could also have sensors , which could  detect the distance of the user from the screen. This would help the users get a better view of the objects tracked by the smart home display, when operated remotely. The display could use Apple’s ‘Handoff’ feature. This could allow you to operate and execute any tasks seamlessly across different devices.

The roadmap ahead

As of now the colors could be available in black and silver. Other rumors suggest that it can also bring an expensive version of the smart home display. This version might have arms just like a robot. The arm could help the product to move , tilt or even spin the screen, just like a robot.

Furthermore, Gurman also said that Apple aims to start manufacturing the smart home camera in 2026. In addition to this tech giant also plans to add more products in its smart home products lineup. In other news, Apple is working on a new feature for iPhones which can provide you with estimated charging times. The feature was first discovered in the latest iOS 18.2 beta by 9to5Mac.
