New Apple Watch models, an upgraded AirPods Pro, and a new version of iOS will now define Apple’s product lineup for all the months until we reach September 2026.

The iPhone 17 series brought along an ecosystem of Apple gadgets, replenishing the Apple stores all across the globe for the coming year. New Apple Watch models, an upgraded AirPods Pro, and a new version of iOS will now define Apple’s product lineup for all the months until we reach September 2026. In the process, however, these new Apple gadgets have led to the discontinuation of a bunch of existing products that were selling in decent numbers. These include previous-generation iPhone models, Apple Watches and more.

Hence, without beating around the bush, let’s take a look at all the gadgets that have been discontinued after the September 9 launch event.

iPhone 16 Pro

Hailed as the flagship smartphone from Apple for the majority of 2025, the iPhone 16 Pro has been axed in favour of the iPhone 17 Pro. The last of the ‘old design’ Pro iPhone, it was the last time a Pro iPhone had a Titanium build. Even though it is no longer on sale from Apple, it will be the best-equipped iPhone to get the iOS 26 update on September 15. For those who were smitten by its elegant design theme, the iPhone 16 Pro might be available with some vendors and e-commerce platforms for lower prices, until stocks last.

iPhone 16 Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro Max was essentially a magnified version of the iPhone 16 Pro and, in the wake of the arrival of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it too has been discontinued. The iPhone 16 Pro Max offered all the bells and whistles of the iPhone 16 Pro while adding the luxury of a larger battery and bigger display.

iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 was retained last year as a more cost-effective alternative to the iPhone 16. With the iPhone 16 taking over that duty for the iPhone 17, Apple no longer found it relevant to keep the iPhone 15 alive, especially with the iPhone 16e now taking on the role of Apple’s most affordable smartphone. Being the first iPhone to feature a USB-C charging port and a 48MP primary rear camera, this iPhone 15 still ends up being a better deal than the newer iPhone 16e. Hence, even though Apple no longer lists it on its website, you can still find brand-new units at much lower prices with other retailers.

iPhone 15 Plus

The iPhone 15 Plus was just a larger version of the iPhone 15 and has been a value-for-money choice for those wanting a great battery stamina and a large screen experience without spending a lot. While this has now been replaced by the iPhone 16 Plus, you may find remaining stocks on Amazon and Flipkart at much lower prices.

AirPods Pro 2

The new AirPods Pro 3 makes big promises for audio performance and health monitoring but it replaced the more practical AirPods Pro 2 – the model that got the USB-C charging port and the compatibility with ‘Find My’. While Apple’s no longer selling, you may find remaining stocks of the AirPods Pro 2 at lower prices with third-party retailers.

Apple Watch Series 10

The Apple Watch Series 11 killed the Series 10 – a smartwatch that celebrated for the Watch’s tenth anniversary. The Series 10 doubled down on sleep and other health monitoring features while expanding the display and refining the overall profile. Unlike other discontinued products listed here, it would be wise to stay away from the Series 10 and rather wait for the Series 11 to arrive, considering the latter’s superior health monitoring systems.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was also discontinued in favour of the Ultra 3 and should be avoided at all costs, considering the new model sells for a similar price.

Apple Watch SE 2

The Apple Watch SE 2 had to be phased out to make space for the Watch SE 3 in Apple’s crowded smartwatch lineup. The Watch SE 2 came out in 2022 and went for a plastic underbody to cut down on costs. The Watch SE 3 now offers a faster processor and support for the latest watchOS 26 features while costing the same.
