Jalsa’s Origin

Jalsa wasn’t just bought; it was a token of appreciation from the film industry to Big B. Rewind to 1982, when Amitabh Bachchan starred in the blockbuster ‘Satte pe Satta’, directed and produced by Ramesh Sippy. As a gesture of gratitude, the bungalow was handed over to Bachchan as remuneration for his stellar performance.

The Sunday Tradition: Meeting Fans at Jalsa

Every Sunday, like clockwork, Amitabh Bachchan opens the gates of Jalsa to greet his fans. The mansion’s grand dark wooden doors swing open, revealing a driveway adorned with palm trees and shrubs. Fans flock here, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite superstar. The entrance of Jalsa features a beautiful garden with potted plants, creating a lively and vibrant ambiance.

The lavish mansion also features an array of wall art, including a wall in the living room dedicated to pictures of deities, a wall adorned with family photos, and another in the office space showcasing black-and-white portraits of Abhishek.

Valued between Rs 100 and Rs 120 crore, Jalsa is a luxurious mansion boasting elegant features and opulent décor. Inside, you’ll find glass chandeliers, mirrored shelves, floor-to-ceiling windows, plush rugs, baroque pieces, magnificent paintings inspired by royal heritage, and grand traditional arches. These elements collectively contribute to the residence’s overall royal and exquisite interiors.

The family’s movable assets amount to nearly Rs 540 crore. Complementing their extravagant lifestyle, the star couple owns an impressive collection of luxury vehicles, including three Mercedes cars, a Rolls Royce, a Range Rover, and a Porsche.

Jalsa’s Neighborhood

While Jalsa remains a symbol of luxury and opulence, changes are afoot in its neighbourhood. Deutsche Bank announced the auction of a bungalow neighbouring Jalsa on March 27, 2024, under the SARFAESI Act.
