Taylor Swift recently appeared on Stephen Colbert‘s late-night talk show. While the fashion world is buzzing about her effortlessly chic maroon velvet dress, fans reminisced about her ‘Red’ era. The billionaire, pop star, celebrated the momentous release of her album ‘Life of a Showgirl’ and engagement to Super Bowl jock Travis Kelce – the news that broke the Internet.
Speaking to Colbert, she revealed that she liked her house ‘without paraphernalia’ and not her remind her of her pop-star status. “I don’t want any plaques or a studio. I don’t want there to be any evidence that a music person lives here,” she elaborated. However, Swift expressed deep love for her piano and guitar, but that too not in a prominent place. “I want to feel cosy at home,” she shared her rationale.
Swift also shared that she would prefer not having a recording studio in her house. But what does her house really look like? According to Elle Decor, Taylor Swift‘s entire real estate empire is worth nearly $150 million, with eight luxurious properties in the US.
Taylor Swift’s share of New York City
As per a NY Post report, Taylor Swift bought a part of the entire New York City for $47.7 million. She made her first big real estate purchase more than a decade ago – two adjacent Tribeca penthouses for nearly $20 million. Later, in 2018, she bought a second-floor complex for $10 million, preceded by an $18 million four-storey townhouse.
It came equipped with a gym, space, antique French wide-plank oak floors, and a planted terrace with a Japanese paper glass wall. The property also has seven bedrooms, six baths, and a three-bedroom apartment adjacent to it, just for Swift’s security personnel.
Rhode Island getaway
Taylor Swift also flaunts a luxurious Rhode Island home, which serves as a holiday home escape. Spanning across 12,000 square feet, the Watch Hill house has eight rooms and eight fireplaces! Several reports claim that it was an all-cash deal purchased with a whopping $17.75 million.
Apart from the lavishly huge house, it sits on a 5-acre land with a 700-foot beachfront overlooking the ocean. Located on a tranquil hill, the billionaire needed some ‘blank space’, it seems, as she scored the deal in one of the most expensive real estate locations in the US.
Nashville Music Row
It was back to basics for Taylor Swift when she bought her spot on the Nashville music row when she was 20. The 3240 square foot penthouse is reportedly worth $1.9 million inside the Adelicia complex. The three-bedroom corner duplex came with a heated Olympic-size swimming pool, a personal trainer, and several luxurious amenities.
Nashville, or popularly known as the Music City, houses several such celebrities. And over the years, Swift has actively invested in properties. In June 2011, she bought a $2.5 million main house, which was constructed in 1934. Be it her 100-year-old NYC house or the one in Northumberland Estate, Swift has spent a significant amount on renovations and was infamously known to approach the local authorities for permits worth millions in refurbishing costs.
The 2011 estate came with four bedrooms, five baths, and a 2000-square-foot guest house. It all rests on a 6-acre land in the elite suburb of Forest Hills. One of the key sales in her portfolio includes the Beverly Hills home she sold in 2018. A guest house cottage worth $2.65 million, the deal included a single-storey home. On the other hand, she held on to her property in Los Angeles, worth $25 million, alone. One of the priciest homes in her vast collection, it is the 1934 Georgian Revival estate with seven bedrooms.
