Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices closed in negative territory. The NSE Nifty 50 closed 167.70 points or 0.76% lower to settle at 22,055.05, while the BSE Sensex lost 434.31 points or 0.59% to settle at 72,623.09. The broader indices closed in the red, with largecap, midcap, and smallcap stocks losing. Bank Nifty index shed 74.50 points or 0.16% to settle at 47,019.70.
Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, and ICIC Bank are the top gainers on NSE Nifty 50 index.
Providing insights into the technical outlook of Nifty, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities, commented that the index is maintaining its upward momentum post a consolidation breakout on the daily chart. The trend exhibits strength by holding above the psychological level of 22000 and the 21EMA on the daily timeframe. De anticipates further upward movement towards 22400/22600 upon a decisive breach of the 22200 mark. On the downside, support is noted at 22000.
The NSE Nifty 50 gained 0.23% to settle at 22,248.85.10, while the BSE Sensex jumped 0.29% to 73,267.48.
