Reliance Petroleum (RPL) has reported a net profit of Rs 105 crore on a turnover of Rs 7,639 crore in the first quarter of current fiscal. It had earned a net profit of Rs 84 crore and clocked a turnover of

Rs 3,678 crore in FY 09, a company statement said here. The Mukesh Ambani-led firm has earned a cash profit of Rs 355 crore during Q1 FY 10. The profit before interest and exceptional items works out at Rs 221 crore. The interest and finance charges stood at Rs 116 crore, it said.

BFL net at Rs 96 lakh

Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL) has reported a 96.38% decline in its net profit at Rs 96 lakh for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, over Rs 26.56 crore for the same period last year. Total net sales declined 43% to Rs 358.64 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 637.36 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

BFL is targeting more revenues from its non-automotive business to de-risk its business. The company wants to take it to 40% by 2011-12 from 21% last year. In Q1FY10, the company?s non-automotive business was 32% of the company?s consolidated revenues. ?FY09 was a very tough year for the company but I expect FY10 to be even more challenging and difficult,? CMD Baba Kalyanisaid.

UB net at Rs 35.5 cr

Net profit of United Breweries rose by 57.14% to Rs 35.50 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, compared to Rs 22.59 crore in the same period last year. Net sales rose to Rs 556.45 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 474.62 crore in the year-ago period. Shares of United Breweries were down by 3.85% at Rs 146.05 on the BSE.

Bosch net dips 14%

Auto-component maker Bosch on Friday reported a fall of 14% in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 to Rs 188.27 crore, over the corresponding period a year ago. The company had a net profit of Rs 219.72 crore during the April-June quarter in the last fiscal.

Total income also fell to Rs 1,311.33 crore in April-June 2009-10 from Rs 1,335.67 crore of the same period a year earlier, the company said in a filing to the BSE.

Ceat profit at Rs 60 cr

Tyre maker Ceat has reported a net profit of Rs 60.20 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, against a loss of Rs 10.67 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income rose 2.36% to Rs 679.62 crore during the quarter from Rs 663.95 crore in the same period a year-ago.

Eveready net up 5-fold

Battery maker Eveready Industries India?s net profit jumped five-fold at Rs 16.04 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, over the same period last year. The company had a net profit of Rs 3.11 crore in the same quarter last year.

ICRA net up 72%

Credit rating agency ICRA on Friday said its consolidated net profit rose 72.38% at Rs 12.36 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, over the same period last year. The company had a net profit of Rs 7.17 crore for the same period last year, it said in a filing to the BSE. Total operating income rose to Rs 33.17 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 25.42 crore in the same quarter the previous fiscal.

Fortis logs 7-fold profit

On the back of improved cost management, Fortis Healthcare Ltd (FHL) has recorded more than seven-fold growth in net profit at Rs 7.55 crore during the first quarter 2009-10, as against Rs 94 lakh during the same quarter last fiscal. Consolidated Q1 sales were up 27% at Rs 188.54 crore as against the same period in 2008-09.

Tata Metaliks loss

Tata Steel’s wholly-owned arm Tata Metaliks has reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 18.34 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, over the same period last year. The company had a net profit of Rs 20.21 crore in the same quarter last year.

JK Lakshmi profit up

JK Lakshmi Cement on Friday announced a growth of 103% in its net profit at Rs 78.49 crore during the first quarter ended June 2009 over the corresponding quarter last year. Profit before tax rose 159% at Rs 100.49 crore.

Unichem net at Rs 32 cr

Unichem Laboratories Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 32.40 crore for the April to June 2009 quarter.
